Thousands of residents have shared their hopes and desires for the Riverfront District through the ONE Riverfront Plan!

Community input serves as the foundation for the ONE Riverfront Plan and collectively, Chattanoogans developed eight strategies to reinvigorate the riverfront. Today, the team is now ready to create action plans for many of these strategies.

Over the past few months, the team has been working with consultants to take the community feedback from the ONE Riverfront Plan to create options for the next steps in implementing concepts. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the community open house and who took the online survey. Your feedback will assist in determining the priorities and what concepts will be implemented in the future.

  • Humanizing Our Riverfront Parks is just a way of saying that our parks should focus on the best ways to serve people. This can include items like shade, restrooms, comfortable seating, play elements and areas to relax.

  • We can't thank the community enough for their time and feedback in the process so far! The community feedback during the ONE Riverfront plan was used to create concepts like "Humanizing Our Parks". This next stage of feedback is to evaluate options that will determine future design and activities to take place in the Riverfront parks.

  • The ONE Riverfront plan outlined eight strategies to evolve our riverfront district. River City Company along with partners are currently addressing six of the eight strategies like "Reimagining Broad Street" and “Humanizing Our Parks”.

  • The City of Chattanooga is developing a Parks and Outdoors Plan (POP) that will offer a road map and path forward to reinvent Chattanooga as a city in a park—where a system of parks and protected open spaces connect people to each other. The ONE Riverfront Plan uses the same guiding principles.

  • A National Park City is a place, a vision and a city-wide community that is acting together to make life better for people, places and nature. The ONE Riverfront plan is created to support the efforts of the City of Chattanooga in achieving this goal.

Once the survey closes on August 6, the consultants will take all of the feedback to create a roadmap for design and activation. This is expected to be completed early 2024.
